There are 5 vital steps to success in the seminar business. You must understand these, if nothing else, if you're to succeed in the seminar business. Here they are.

Step #1: Understand that TR=SR+PS+CB.

This seemingly cryptic formula is your key to success in the seminar business. Total Revenue is equal to Seminar Registration plus Product Sales plus Consulting Business.

Many people who do seminars don't understand this one.

Successful seminar promoters understand this formula. Others do not. The registration fees that you charge for the seminar is just one element of your financial success.

The real money comes from selling products and services to your participants.

Step #2: Find and Work with Joint Venture Partners

Your biggest cost in promoting a seminar is marketing. The single biggest cost in marketing your seminar is your promotional strategy. Most people are still using direct mail. This is not only archaic, but also bad for your bottom-line profits.

The best way to get people to your event is to find joint venture partners to help you promote the event. You do this by working a "split" of the revenues with them. They mail to their list and you give them 50% of the revenue.

The second factor is to give a good presentation. The key element to making this happen is to be yourself. Be real! I call it the Oprah factor.

I've been to hundreds of seminars and other events where the presenters reeked of insincerity. It just won't work to accomplish your objectives.

Step # 4: Collect e-mail Addresses

Imagine if you had an in-house list of 50,000 people. That may seem far-fetched now, but it won't in the near future (if you follow my system).

Let's say you want to promote a multi-day bootcamp next January. All you do is create a compelling e-mail and send it to your list.

Assuming that you haven't disappointed people up until that point, you'll have a good chance of selling them on attending.

And what did it cost you? Nothing but a click of your mouse and a few hours of time to create the amyl.

Understand this one concept and you'll be way ahead of most people.

Step #5: Create New Seminars to Sell Attendees

If people come to a seminar, it tells you one thing. They like to learn that way.

As a successful seminar promoter you'll want to develop a number of other related products to sell your attendees. But, never forget that they first came through your doors via a live seminar.
